Allows people that don't have an Apple device to enjoy the apps.
Easier to update a web app, so they'll get updated more frequently and those updates will get rolled into furture updates to the Apple apps.
If you want to try an app out before you bother to download it, or you want to show it to someone on a computer that doesn't have it installed. It's easy to do that.
The Apple Apps allow you to edit your collection and the web apps do not. So that's a reason to prefer the Apple apps.
